dnata Brisbane & Melbourne Air Cargo Handling System Upgrades

As a long-term partner, Lödige have over the years delivered many projects globally for dnata as their cargo operation continues to expand internationally. Our latest collaboration is with dnata Australia for the enhancement of their Air Cargo handling facilities in Brisbane and Melbourne.

The project includes installation of a new Scissor Lift and its integration with the existing SCADA system at the dnata Cargo Terminal at Brisbane International Airport.

The new low profile 508mm 10ft scissor lift will offer greater operational safety and flexibility providing side shift capability, weighing and the ability to control the conveyor lane connected to the truck dock.

To cater for additional build up and break down capability of the ULD handling system at the dnata Cargo Terminal at  Melbourne International Airport, and to provide buffering capacity and an extended dolly transfer area at the airside, Lödige have designed a system to have build-up and break-down (BU/BD) performed on 203 mm high free drive roller deck workstations, linked via the ball deck to the 508mm high airside castor decks and rotating universal decks.

The works in Melbourne are carried out in four project phases to minimize the impact to the ongoing operation at the cargo terminal.  The first phase, which is 50% of the new airside interface, has been completed and handed over to dnata in July 2018.

The final phase of the project is expected to be completed in early October 2018.
